The wall...

Spent another day with Dad. Finished up with the plumbing fiasco in the laundry room, and put up the durarock. First coat of plaster, and hooked up the sink and washing machine. Looks like this operation has been mostly successful. Except that the washing machine tripped the NEW GFCI protected outlet that was just put in - again. It did this to the last one, but it was suspected to be a bad GFCI, so it was replaced with a standard outlet. Now the same is happening, and I did a little test and confirmed that the washer had ground shorted to the neutral. Probably because of a rusted out motor. Wonderful. Glad it's not my problem! heh... Is probably a good excuse to get a new washer, but since he is going to be redoing the kitchen soon, I predict a standard outlet being reinstalled for the time being. No biggie. But I can't wait to help with this kitchen project... It is going to be a nightmare... heh Oh, well - with any luck, I will be starting a new job soon. But that's another story...
