Well, an old friend of mine, Robin, called and wanted to stop by to say hi with her boyfriend and son. Sure, it would be nice to see her again, and meet her BF who is also into computers. No problem. Her son, Eddie, started to terrorize the house, so we decided it would be best to run to McDonalds to feed him and let him tear them up instead. So we did, and managed to eat dinner without major incidence. On the way back to my place, we notice a kid zipping around the neighborhood on one of those gas powered skateboard scooter things. Not very safe.. He was only about 6 or 7. She was driving, and not being too familiar with my neighborhood, going very slow. As we get around the corner of the street next to me, the kid comes flying past the corner right in front of her truck! Screeech.. Thump. Whimper. Yup, he got tagged. He is okay, she stopped just in front of him, and just knocked him off the scooter, and knocked the scooter over. No apparent dammage to anyone or anything. Still, the police came and paramedics checked out the kid. Noone got fined, as it all turned out okay. Quite a bit shaken up though. I dont know if the parents got in any trouble or not, as those things actually are illegal.. (well, USING one is illegal, not owning it, but that's another argument) And at that, life goes on...
